Big Brother (Google) is Watching you

Google

Although this post is a bit off topic, but seeing as Google’s new privacy policy went into force today with implications that  range from creepy to sinister, I wanted to make this post about an alternative Search Engine www.duckduckgo.com

Check out the http://donttrack.us/ link and see how your very personal and intimate details are utilised by the corporations. Of course you can argue that using Google isn’t mandatory, and use cash instead of plastic and so on and that’s fair enough. But Google has become an omnipresent force in our lives, and so far much to our benefit (I love Google Earth), but with this consolidation of data about what we search for on the internet, photos of where we live, what we purchase, what we read, syncing our contacts from cell phones, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate our use of Google. I’ve been trying out duckduckgo (still not sure if I like the name), and so far it looks good, and none of my search terms are being tracked. Check it out for yourself.
